Does an adjustment hurt?
Most patients feel relief rather than pain. Some soreness afterward is normal, similar to after exercise, and it settles quickly.
What is the popping sound?
It is gas releasing from the joint as pressure changes, the same as cracking a knuckle. It is not bone and it is not a sign of force.
Do I have to keep going forever?
No. You get a plan with an endpoint. Some patients choose maintenance visits because they feel better with them, but that is entirely optional.
